We just want to say, Wow, what a year! With the always patient and cheerful assistance of Patrick Pettit, we bred our Whirlwind Patric Bred N Butr (Ch. Photoplays Quote Me [Ch. Patric's Quotation son] x Patric's Vanitys Fare) to Ch. Topaz Jazz Singer and got puppies into the show ring early summer 1995. By the end of the year, it was evident that this breeding clicked. CH.* BLUESKIES PENNYROYAL, JC - 12 points, both majors - Co-owned with Steven Guichard BLUESKIES BURDOCK - 11 points, both majors - Co-owned with and shown by Cathy Kamin BLUESKIES HAWTHORN, JC - 7 points, 1 major BLUESKIES SWEET CICELY, JC - 7 points, 1 major • pending AKC confirmation Then we were lucky enough to be able to co-own with Pennyworth Kennels a beautiful bitch, Lyons Angel of Pennyworth. "Whitney", who is by the wonderful producer Ch. Patric's Quotation (ROM qualified) out of Ch. Lyon's Rage of Angels. She walked into the ring for practice and walked out with a 4 point major at the Clackamas Kennel Club show under Linda Scanlon and garnered another point and BOS from Mr. R. Shaw at Sammamish KC. She also has shown herself a real competitor in the field, completing her AKC Junior Courser title and then adding 2 legs of her Senior Courser title on the same weekend, while getting a 3rd place and a point toward her AKC Field Championship; besides being a delight to live with and gorgeous to boot. And then there is the lovely Hailey (Morshor's Sister Act) that we co-own with Aubrey and Kathleen Banks at Hasue Hounds. She came to us early in 1995 at 1 year old and now has both majors and 9 points. She happily supplied us with 8 beautiful and promising puppies, sired by Ch. MLF Blueskies the Candyman. JC, which we hope will make a big splash in 1996. ALL IN ALL, 1995 WAS A YEAR TO REMEMBER

July 1995 - Santa Barbara Kennel Club - Judge Mr. Norman Corbett "Jet", all that his name in implies, quick to learn, quick to please. Mr. Personality plus, giving his all to the ring, agility and racing. "Jet" has taken the BREED from the 6 to 9 puppy class and gone BEST OF OPPOSITE from the 9 to 12 puppy class. A joy to live with and love. An exciting little fellow for an owner-handler.
(Ch. Misty Moor's Chalmondoley x Ch. Baywoods Renaissance) Houdini is pictured above at 12 years old. He's not only a show dog and producer, he's my best friend. We are proud of his champion offspring and their offspring. We congratulate Photoplays Radience (Bergman) on her 1st major, new Champion Phantoms Diamonds N Lace (Banks/Richardson) and Group-winning Ch. Prophecy Majic Shilo (Gibbons/Greibe). Besides Houdini, we do have Ch. Jorcora Chelsea Darjeeling (Banks/Richardson), who is now a champion producer available for stud. We have two Houdini grandsons, soon to be available at stud, who are: Hasue Young At Heart ( Ch. Photoplay Private Eye [Victor son] x Ch. Hasue Time After Time) and Hasue Horizen Holigram (Swoope) (Ch. Briarwyke Keep The Change x Hasue Appraxin Spellbound). We are equally proud of Houdini's friends, new Champion Talisman Phantom Kaymar (Smoothfox) and new friendAdmoor Hasue Three Wishs (Woody - silky terrier), who is keeping Houdini young. We do have two litters planned in 95/96: Morshor's Sister Act (5 singles to finish) to Houdini (4/95), Ch. Phantom Diamonds N Lace (grandaughter) to Houdini (8/95). Our goal has always been quality, not quantity! If interested in available puppies or young adults, do write. We answer all inquiries. Houdini is available at stud by private treaty on a very limited basis. He is now 13 and, yes, he does look as good as the photo. Houdini welcomes visitors by appointment only. He also wishes his children and their offspring luck in '96, and congratulates those who have done so well in '95. Too many to mention...

Pointed, major pointed, and on their way to their championships.
Prologue by Sue Rosenbeck "Dreamer" was rescued from an individual in Pennsylvania who was breeding whippets, salukis, and borzoi in the hopes of making money. Of course the financial aspect never came to be and the person was shut down by local law enforcement for unsanitary and unsafe conditions. All the dogs were confiscated and most went through breed rescue operations. "Dreamer" was said to be a trouble maker and would fight other male dogs, which never turned out to be true. After a brief stay with a friend in Cleveland, he came to my house where he was neutered and evalu ated for possible placement. I found him to be very sweet and adoring, well behaved, crate trained, and would come running full tilt when called even in the large exercise yard. He was a bit insecure and required lots of attention. He got along fine with all the other dogs, including the boys. After about a month he was placed in a home with a single gentleman and did fine until his girlfriend moved in with a German Shepherd. The dogs did not get along and the girlfriend said Dreamer had to go. His second home was with a family that lived nearby. They had three young children that adored him and he was very happy. He loved kids. However, after he was there 4 months, he was tearfully returned because of a divorce. I kept Dreamer for a long time after that, he was never any trouble and my kids loved him. A family came to visit that had been highly recommended to me from greyhound rescue. They decided a greyhound was just too large and wanted a rescue whippet instead. Of course the children adored him and he them so I let him go thinking this was it, the home he was waiting for. Unfortunately I did not screen the people as well as I should have, thinking greyhound rescue had already done that. Originally he was doing fine, but after 3 months they called out of the blue, saying Dreamer had a problem with crate and house soiling from separation anxiety. I explained how to correct the behavior but they insisted on returning him immediately because they were leaving for vacation the following day. He drove from Cleveland on a week night, arriving around 10 pm. I was suspicious because of the convenience of them leaving for vacation the following day. Dreamer was ecstatic to be home and settled in without any behavior problems. A few weeks later, after talking to you about Mr. Fuller, I thought Dreamer would be a good candidate for the hearing dog program. He was adoring, responsive, easy going and very willing to please. We both know the end of the story. He finally found a permanent home and a special job to do for a person that adores him. I did not realize that Dreamer would become a canine celebrity but am excited for Ray and Dreamer. I am more excited however that Dreamer is doing well enough in his training that he will not only be a wonderful companion but a hearing assistant for Ray. I'm sure Dreamer's help is invaluable.
by Lawana Langston Hearing Dog Companions was started June 4, 1995 when I was certified as a hearing dog instructor from Dog Ears in Oklahoma City, where I had been training for four months. By September, I was training 6 dogs. During this time I had been searching for a whippet for an attorney who had moved to Dallas from Washington , DC . He had obtained his previous whip pet through Dr. Barbara Henderson. Ray Fuller is a deaf attorney who needs a trained hearing dog and Gibney had been the perfect companion. Through the help of Peggy Bush in Dallas, Dr. Henderson in Maryland , Sally Smith in Colorado and Sue Rosenbeck in Ohio, we found Dreamer. He had been in several homes in his first 3 years, so Ray and Sue corresponded directly to be sure Dreamer was what Ray was looking for. Sue took Dreamer to a dog show, where he was picked up by Debra Bahm from New Orleans , who was showing her dogs. Debra got Dreamer as far as Joplin. Missouri, where I met her and brought Dreamer back to Dallas. It was an instant love affair between the Ray and Dreamer. Dreamer stayed with Ray the first three months and then, while Ray studied for the Texas Bar exam, Dreamer stayed with me and trained. Ray came to visit occasionally so the door bell/people knocking, the smoke alarm, emergency sirens while in the car, and people calling Ray by name. Beyond all that, he has become a constant companion, usually not more than a foot from Ray's side. Oh, and did I say that Dreamer, as it turns out, is related to Gibney through their grandfather!! Thanks to the efforts of so many, this has really been a Dream-er come true for Ray.
