GRACIOUS (Chesara Seaspell's Charade, SC, FCh) 2nd open stake AWC National ASFA coursing

GIACOMINO (FC Warburton Duke Whittington, CD, FCh)
3rd Lure Coursing dog class, over lots of gorgeous specials

CARUSO (Ch. Affire On A Clear Day, SC)
Won the Am Bred dog class! Wow!

MARIA (Sportingfield Lady Warburton, JC)
Made the cut in 12-18 mo bitches

WILLOW (Warburton Song Sung Blue, CD, SC, FCh)
2nd Novice B Obedience
9th in the triathalon (even though she was the 2nd youngest dog entered and came in with no bonus points!)

LILLY (Warburton Lilly Langtree, SC)
Made the cut in Open bitches

JAZZBO (Dual Ch. Warburton Jazz Festival, FCh)
Made the cut in Open dogs 4th in Brace with Lilly

(Sporting Fields Winterstone x Healy's Billie Jean) Bred by John Healy who sold puppies to a pet store

Jazz finished with three majors, a BOB, bunches of BOW's and some nice BOS's over specials. He breezed to his AKC FCh to become our first Dual Ch. He loved his introduction to straight and uval racing and finished 7th at Jersey Rag Racers competitive 4th of July Versitility weekend.

( Ch. Affire On A Clear Day, MC x Chesara Seaspell's Charade, FCh.)

This amazing little bitch continues to delight us. She cruised to her CD title and her ASFA FCh this year. She is presently the only Warburton whippet working toward a tracking title (with Linda)! She was Best Adult in Match at JRR versatility weekend under breeder judge Judy Britton over a number of lovely specials, and finished fifth overall in the versatility competition. We are very proud of her 9th place finish in this year's triathalon. If only judges in the breed ring would look past her blue markings to see her brown eyes! Her movement is flawless, outline superb! She is everything a whippet should be.

(BISS Ch. Broadstrider By George, ROM x Ch. Jade's Simply Irresistible, FCh.)
Bred by Cynthia Crowder Whittier

Caruso finished his championship on my birthday, mother's day of 1996. He is my first champion. He gave me such a thrill winning his class at the National — thank you Mrs. Holmes! He went BOW his next two times out to finish. Despite his intense disdain for the show ring, he tried his very hardest for me. He thinks obedience work is great fun and will be aiming for some more initials in 1997.

(Sporting Fields Winterstone x Healy's Billie Jean) Bred by John Healy, who sold puppies to a pet store

Lilly has had to share the spotlight with Maria, but she is quite a star! She continues to bloom under Terrie's loving care and has hit the coursing field running. She is already will on her way to her FCh. The win picture above was so exciting, as was her win in the Am Bred class at the Midwestern Specialty under Stacie Davis. (Thus earning me my own title: Queen of the Am Bred Class!).

(BIS, BISS Ch. Sporting Fields Kinsman x Wenrick's Tia of Sportingfields)

Maria has been slowly, but surely, maturing into a glamour queen. I am looking forward to this year in the breed ring and on the coursing field with this curvey little speed demon with the aristocratic pedigree. In her first full day of coursing, she finished second, earning 21 points, and wanted more!

Giacomino has surpassed my wildest expectations! What a dog. Purchased at nine weeks (along with littermate Jazzbo, to prevent them from being sold to Doctor's Pets, as were two other puppies from that litter), he was truly an ugly duckling. We were oohing and ahing over Jazzbo, who was stunning even when ematiated and filthy, when I noticed my non-doggy husband attached to this most comical looking whippet. Well, two BOS (over specials) and a lovely BOW major win later, Bill says he's available to consult on "picking" puppies! His numerous BOB's and BIF's in ASFA and AKC attest to his remarkable coursing talent. He's just so much fun!

(SBIS Ch. Locar's Martini on the Rocks x Ch. Delights White Collar Grime, SC - a Zoom daughter)
Born 1/8/95

A multiple Breed winner from the classes, Camille finished her championship in May 1996 under noted judge Lorraine Groshans, by going WB for 5 pts and BOW.

Shown once in August 1996, Dorothy McDonald gave Camille BOB over specials at Kokomo KC and then awarded her GROUP ONE in a strong Hound Group. What a thrill!

Shown once in September 1996, Cindy Scott chose Camille as her BOB over specials and Herman Felton awarded her Group Two.

Thank you, judges!

Camille started her- lure-coursing career- at the MBC ASFA trials in October 1996 - for the weekend, she earned 50 pts and a First placement toward her ASFA Feld Championship!

We are thrilled with this sound, gentle, doe-eyed girl who can do it all!

What's in store for Camille? Motherhood, and - we hope - an LCM. Of course, she will grace the ring on occasion - watch for her at the National in Atlanta.

1996 was another great year for our club. We honored a record number of titleholders at our annual Christmas party, sponsored several well-attended races and lure trials, and had another wonderful independent specialty.

Two of our member-owned whippets covered themselves with glory this past year. Kindochaline's Fandango, owned and bred by Frank and Earl McInnes, won an All-Breed Best in Show from the puppy classes, while Alchemy's Exquisite Ocotillo, owned by Bradley Beetz and Christie Hobbs, was the 1996 AKC National Coursing Champion. Way to go, Fannie and Nash!

With another year of coursing, racing, shows and matches planned, 1997 should be another bang-up year for the NCWFA. See you there!

We thank our lucky stars for the day Julia came into our lives. In addition to being a whippet of indomi table will, she is a producer of merit. With her oldest puppies (of two litters) only three, she is the dam of three champions and seven pointed. In concert with Chip and Reign, Julia has produced pups who excel in turn of body and movement. On the following page, we would like to present some of her kids who reside here. . .
