With powerful, flowing sidegait, "Sport" is living up to his name. In two
short months of showing, "the biker boy" has accumulated 11 points,
including BOTH majors, from the 6-9 month class. I am fiercely proud of
this puppy and look forward to sharing him with the fancy in 2000.

In the tradition of her over-achieving parents, Mickey is living up to the expectations her breeding demands. Free moving and ultra-feminine, she easily charmed her way to this 4-point major from the 6-9 class.

In May of '99, Megan became (to our knowledge) the first Dual Champion Whippet to attain the AX and AXJ titles. Her Agility Excellent was earned in March, with a first place for her height division (in fact, she was the only dog in four height divisions to qualify that day), and her Agility Excellent Jumpers was obtained in May with a third place. She is now accumulating Masters Agility legs, so once again Obedience (BORING!) is taking a back seat...

Nicole did almost as well as Megan this year, earning her final Agility Excellent leg in October with Dad as her stand-in teammate, and she has only one leg to go to achieve her Agility Excellent Jumpers title. For a dog who spent a whole year afraid to get on the pause table (and she still sometimes earns a refusal for that slight hesitation before she decides it's safe to jump onto it), this accomplishment is nothing short of Beyond-OurWildest-Dreams!

Amanda spent her first several Agility trials humiliating teammate Mom, jumping over contacts, running around hurdles, and generally coursing the obstacles faster than Mom could holler commands, but then suddenly everything clicked, and she earned her NA and NAJ titles in short order, placing every time she qualified. We never expected her to go any further in her first year, but she surprised us with two Open legs as well. She is extremely motivated by the fun of it all, she can turn on a dime, and she's FAST! And now that she's paying attention, we predict a great Agility future for this little Munchkin -- perhaps even the coveted MACH someday.

Top row, L to R: Nicole, Twyla, Megan, Nora, Amanda, Tessa Bottom, L to R: Evelyn, Sabrina

We were so busy training and trialing in Agility this year that our other dog activities took a back seat. Nevertheless, FCh.Twyla and Evelyn have achieved their ASFA Field Championships, while Amanda needs only one placement to finish hers. Evelyn has all her AKC Field Champion points, but lacks one major; Amanda is halfway to her AKC Field title, and Nora and Ch. Tessa have long needed that one elusive major to finish their AKC Field Championships, but we fear age is against them at this point. (But who cares -- they still love to run, and they're still fit enough to do it!) Nora and Megan are training in Obedience -- in fact, Nora is very likely to add a CD to her name in the coming year. (DCh. Megan couldn't care less.) All Megan's daughters are conformation- pointed (despite our infrequent showing) and are also beginning to compete in Agility. (Besides Amanda's WOW season, Sabrina and Tessa have earned one leg apiece). We've had a good year; it's just that Agility is so darned ADDICTIVE!
