Hotel Information

The host hotel for the 2014 AWC National is the Hunt Valley Inn in Hunt Valley, MD. See their website at: www.huntvalleyinn.com

We are super-excited about this resort-class hotel, situated in Maryland's beautiful "hunt country," north of Baltimore.

From their website:

"The Hunt Valley Inn Baltimore hotel, a Wyndham® Affiliate, is perfectly situated just north of Baltimore, MD. Baltimore Hunt Valley Inn has the facilities to exceed your every expectation. Located within walking distance to Hunt Valley Towne Center shopping, Regal Cinemas and Wegman's, our hotel is moments from all your business and leisure needs. The Hunt Valley Inn Baltimore is also just minutes from Oregon Ridge Park, Baltimore's scenic Inner Harbor, the Baltimore National Aquarium, University of Maryland Baltimore, the Maryland Zoo, Camden Yards and the Baltimore Convention Center."

The AWC room rate is $119 a night. Please tell them you are with the AWC when you make your reservation to make sure that you get the special rate.  Our group code is 04186864. To make an online reservation using the group code, use this direct link.

There is a one-time cleaning charge of $50 per room for the dogs if you plan to have a dog at any point in your room; this is non-refundable. This applies ONLY to rooms making their reservations using our group code, as the hotel's usual fee is $75/ one dog ONLY (which is another good reason to book through AWC instead of trying to work a deal outside of the group code). If you plan to attend, and most definitely if you plan to attend with more than one dog, please use our group code and rate so you can take advantage of our special contracted rate and exception to the hotel's usual one dog only policy. If you choose to use another travel service to book a room, please be aware that you will only be able to have one dog under 50 pounds in your room.  Please mention when you are making your reservation if you are not using the group code that you are with the American Whippet Club event.  No more than SIX dogs per room.

The usual rules about not leaving dogs uncrated when not present in the room, bringing a blanket or sheet from home to cover the bed, and putting plastic under your crates and being considerate of other guests if your dogs begin to make noise apply, as well as being extremely conscientious about picking up after your dogs and promptly cleaning up any accidents or reporting those you are not able to clean yourself to housekeeping.
