AWC Versatility Award

The American Whippet Club is the national breed club for Whippets within the American Kennel Club. The AWC promotes responsible breeding, training and competition for showing, lure coursing, racing, obedience and the overall versatility of the Whippet. To promote the versatility of the breed, the AWC rewards its member’s whippets with the Award of Versatility when certain criteria have been met.

The AWC Board of Directors voted in January 2019 to remove the requirement that the Award of Versatility be applied for within one year of the dog's death; excluding dogs deceased prior to 1997.
If a dog is deceased at the time of application, the owner has until the end of the calendar year following the year of death to complete and submit the application.
